New Year Fishing News
If you think we have it tough with weather conditions occasionally, spare a thought for our friends at Rammi in Siglufjordur in Northern Iceland.
During December they experienced such a severe winter storm that it knocked out their electricity supply for 2 days. The electricit supply controls the geothermal heating system for the town so they had no heating either. Apparently, it could have been worse because it was only -5C! Fortunately, life returned to normal in time for Christmas.

Rammi’s vessel Solberg has recently landed good additional stocks of cod fillets (in Reykjavik) and supplies for 2020 appear positive. Both the Icelandic and Barents Sea cod quotas have been raised approximately 2% and the combined haddock quota is up significantly by approximately 12% on 2019. Demand for frozen at sea fillets from other market sectors and other countries remains high but a stronger pound following the election result and a positive supply picture will hopefully stabilise prices for fillets in 2020.
We have good stocks of our excellent brands of Icelandic and Barents Sea products (Rammi, Glacialis and Icefresh etc.) to provide you with the finest fish for your business in 2020.
