In 2017 UK imported approximately 272,000 tonnes of cod 

Average cod fillet prices have risen from approximately £4.00/kg in 2013 to £7.00/kg in 2018 

World atlantic cod catches in 1974 totalled approx. 2.75 million tonnes 

In 2007 they had fallen to approx. 750,000 tonnes per annum 

Estimates for 2019 are approximately 1.25 million tonnes in total 

Capture or wild fisheries volumes (any wild species for human consumption) have remained flat in annual volume at approximately 75 million tonnes per annum over the last 30 years while aquaculture tonnages for human consumption are now more than 80 million tonnes per annum up from 17 million tonnes in 1990
